Charese Powell

Charese Powell lives in Ohio, where she writes the kind of stories she’s always loved to read.

She’s been writing since she was thirteen—first in notebooks, then on her very own word processor, a gift from her grandfather who believed in her storytelling dreams from the start. That gift unlocked a lifelong love of writing and a drive to tell the kinds of love stories missing from the mainstream—stories that center Black women, honor emotional truth, and celebrate the richness of Black love.

Before turning to fiction full-time, she spent years in the corporate world—crafting strategies, navigating boardrooms, and quietly sketching romance scenes in the margins. The pull toward creative expression eventually proved too strong to ignore. She writes under the pen name Charese Powell—not to hide, but to honor another version of herself and the grandfather who helped spark her voice.

Her debut novel, Crossing Lines at City Hall, is the result of that leap. It blends passion and depth, steamy tension and emotional complexity—offering a love story that lingers long after the last page.

She continues to write from Columbus, Ohio—or wherever her travels take her. She enjoys long walks, beach vacations, and getting lost in a good book. She is currently working on the sequel to Crossing Lines at City Hall.
